The Abertis Strategic Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Plan establishes the involvement of the Group in the communities where it carries out its business.
The award received in 2017 from the economic newspaper Expansión merely underlined the need for us to continue supporting the KanGo! programme. The initiative takes place in 12 schools in Sarrià (Barcelona), thanks to 18 KanGo! volunteers.
The assistants are youngsters with Down Syndrome or intellectual disabilities from the Catalan Down Syndrome Foundation who have been employed by the Abertis Foundation for one mission: to validate the passes of students travelling to school on public transport (underground or bus) who must swipe them during each stage of their route to school using the devices carried by the assistants. Parents are given peace of mind, as they receive a message when their children complete each stage and when they reach school. This not only reduces the mobility of private vehicles around the schools but also minimises the environmental impact on these areas. The initiative was presented with another award in 2018: the Barcelona Educational Innovation Award for the Best Educational Practice.

The exhibition “Miró: la experiencia de mirar” (Miró: the experience of looking)was held at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires (Argentina) from 25th November 2017 to 25th February 2018.

In the previous summary we indicated that the artist Joan Miró maintained a close link with the avant-garde scene in Paris from his youth until a ripe old age. The exhibition sponsored by Abertis at the Grand Palais enabled the Catalan painter to return to the French capital.
